Open Book Publishers “Introducing Some Data to the Open Access Debate: OBP’s Business Model” Part 1, Part 2, & Part 3.

This is a fascinating model, and one that I will be keeping in mind as I figure out where to land my first book project. Certainly the way that this is set up is far more comfortable and familiar to me: I grew up a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) punk kid, and spent much of my third decade of life publishing my work and the work of others via a non-profit model. Now that I am in my fifth decade of life, I do not feel too grown up for this model; Rupert Gatti makes a compelling argument that this model has a greater potential for impact than academic presses.
